Lil Fish - White Cloud

LiL FiSH - White Cloud

White Cloud is a track from the collaborative album by Lil Fish titled "Fusion" from the label "The French Connection". The album contains a number of artists collaborating with Lil Fish.

The track has a great "world" or "ethnic" sound - almost mystical. A hint of Arabic vibes are woven into the track to give the beat a fresh sound. This one will enjoy many years of easy listening.

Check out the rest of this album and others at Bandcamp.

Télépopmusik - Breathe

Télépopmusik - Breathe

Breathe is the first track on a 2001 Télépopmusik album named Genetic World. This track is definitely one of the popular track I've posted here thus far but I believe it fits the description of what we post on this blog and I wanted to make sure I kept true to my tracks more than the views any track had.

Breathe has "weirdly filtered but smoky female vocals" and a gentle but dance-able beat that creates a neo-nostalgic feel.

I first came across this track in 2003, bought the CD, and have been listening to it ever since. It enjoyed a surge in popularity from a commercial and Emmy nomination. I think it's a timeless track that everyone should know.

Gui Boratto - Azurra

Gui Boratto - Azurra

Azurra, which should not be confused with a different song named Azzurra, is the sixth track on the 2009 album Take My Breath Away.

This is a chill track but it's made the list for also having nice complexity with building and simple elements that are reminiscent of Kraftwerk. It's a little funky and less patient than some of the other tracks in the album that take their time building.

Globular - Lemon

Globular - Lemon

Lemon is the first track on the year-end 2013 album, Sorbet for the Soul, a collaboration between Globular and Radioactive Sandwich. There's a lot of depth to this track in the unusual way Globular creates the strong beats that are layered with eccentric and indescribable elements. This track strikes a great balance between downtempo tracks that are too boring and psychedelic tracks that are too trippy.

Globular's music is a bubbling mass of virtual sounds designed to stimulate the ears, tickle the brain and move the body. Deep dubbed-out bass lines provide the bedrock for the harmonic intricacies and grooving melodies that typify this sound.

Globular takes listeners on a journey of their own choosing, encouraging all who enter to create their own stories and to dance their own dance. This is a good way to conceptualize how you might listen to most songs we post on this blog.

The tracks on this album are widely available for free download. An interesting tidbit that illustrates the skill of Globular and Radioactive Sandwich is that the collaboration is extremely unique in this way: "Each artist started with the same set of samples and built their tracks around those sounds. Globular cooked up Lemon while Radioactive Sandwich provided the tasty Mango. They then traded tracks and reinterpreted each others original track; Globular created Mamon from Mango and Radioactive Sandwich created Lengo from Lemon. The end result is a four track release that flows and blends seamlessly, every track containing flavors from the others, much like a tasty summer frozen treat." Amazing! Epic!

I'll post the second Globular track, Mamon, for fun.

Conjure One - Pandora

Conjure One - Pandora

This track is the ninth track on the 2002 self-titled album, Conjure One. It has a lot more non-traditional instrumentals and non-electronic elements, like piano, than many songs posted in the past, but the unique sounds and beats delivered to your headphones will put a chill up your spine. Conjure One specializes in bringing sounds that appear to be from the middle of nowhere with very native “tribal nomadic” vocals. It takes you to a chill place 3 hours away from the nearest city.

Conjure One – Nomadic Code

Conjure One – Nomadic Code

This enthralling track is the 5th track on the 2010 Conjure One album, Exilarch. It is really nomadic and described as “ethnic electronica” with chants and indecipherable words starting with focus and then swirling in circles around the beats. Another way you might look at it is that strong beats emerge from a nomadic chant that has unusual percussion elements throughout. This stuff is great because the track takes turns around the nomadic center to reveal a unique full-body work of art that keeps me focused on my work while relaxing me without putting me to sleep.

Caia - Heavy Weather

Caia - Heavy Weather

This track is off the obscure 2003 album, titled The Magic Dragon. I'm not a fan of primarily chillout tracks but this one has a bit more and is upbeat in a sunny sort of way. "It's downtempo meets new age meets electronica meets acid jazz. But more than anything, it's music that meets the soul and decides to become best friends." - review.
